WASHINGTON-- Our Revolution on Thursday endorsed Jessica Guerrero to represent the 3rd District on San Antonio’s City Council.
“City council elections are the hallmark of American democracy and public service,” said Executive Director Shannon Jackson. “Jessica Guerrero embodies an innovative and progressive American spirit that will serve San Antonio well. Our Revolution is proud to endorse her for San Antonio City Council.”
Born and raised in southeast San Antonio, Guerrero is on a mission to give back to her neighborhood by promoting a message of inclusion and collaboration. Guerrero has worked extensively in her own neighborhood and beyond to empower her community to organize and negotiate for social justice. Guerrero’s experiences range from participating in a community lawsuit to lift restrictive marching ordinances to organizing for advocacy with La Fuerza Unida, where she successfully negotiated financial assistance for residents facing displacement after their mobile home community was purchased by developers.
If elected, Guerrero will develop strategies that open doors to local government by encouraging public votes, transparency, expanding access to city resources, and offering more bilingual signage and translations of government publications. Looking ahead, Guerrero pledges to continue to fight for housing justice, a livable minimum wage, women’s rights, and climate justice.
"Guerrero is a candidate with unwavering hometown pride,” said Jackson. “As a city councilperson, she will continue to fight for justice in her own backyard.”
